Use of solar radiation forecasting to improve hybrid systems management
January 10th, 2015
Nowcasting for a PV-plant in Switzerland:
The capacity of the system to properly assess the irradiation received by the modules and the produced solar power. One can also notice a 5% gap in the late morning which may result from an uncomplete learning of the various models, the camera being on site for less than a month.
During this day, there are two sudden drops in solar production: one at noon, the other in the middle of the afternoon. It is typically in these kind of situations that it is important to anticipate changes in the PV-production to improve the management of an hybrid system.
